Tasty and crunchy cornflakes chivda is a popular teatime snack, generally prepared during the festival of Diwali.
Simple and tasty makai poha chivda/cornflakes mixture is made with cornflakes, peanuts, cashews, and some spices.

Ingredients
2 cup cornflakes
¼ cup peanut
6-7 cashews
Few curry leaves
Oil for frying
For masala mix-
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon chaat masala
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
¼ teaspoon salt or as per your taste
How to make Cornflakes Chivda
1. Heat the oil in a kadhai and fry the cornflakes in batches.
2. Deep fry the cornflakes until they puff up. Make sure the oil is hot.
3. Remove the cornflakes from the kadhai.
4. Now add ¼ cup peanut in oil and fry them until golden.
5. Remove the peanut from the kadhai.
6. Later fry the 6-7 cashews until slightly golden.
7. Remove the cashew from the kadhai and keep it aside.
8. Further, fry some curry leaves until they turn crisp.
9. In a separate bowl, take 1 teaspoon red chilli powder, ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder, ½ teaspoon chaat masala, 1 teaspoon powdered sugar, and ¼ teaspoon salt or as per your taste.
10. Mix all the ingredients very well and our masala mix is ready.
11. Now in a big plate or bowl, add fried cornflakes, peanuts, cashews, and curry leaves.
12. Lastly, add masala and mix everything very well. Make sure the masala is well coated with the cornflakes.
13. Savory, crunchy & tasty cornflakes chivda is ready to serve.
Suggestion
1. You can also add dried coconut slices and raisins to this recipe.
2. You can decrease the amount of spices as per your choice.
3. You can store the cornflakes chivda for a month in an airtight container.
