Instant milk powder peda is an ideal sweet to serve during festivals and special occasions.

This milk powder peda is a great alternative to the traditional khoya peda. For making khoya /mawa, milk is slowly thickened by heating in an open pan which is a very lengthy process.

But this milk powder peda is a quick and easy recipe that you can make within 20 minutes with very few ingredients like milk powder, milk, ghee, and powdered sugar.

Ingredients


1 cup milk powder

½ cup milk

1 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter)

4 teaspoon powdered sugar

¼ teaspoon cardamom powder

For saffron milk,

2-3 teaspoons of warm milk

Pinch of saffron

How to make Saffron Milk


1. In a bowl, take 2-3 teaspoons of warm milk and add a pinch of saffron to it. Stir and keep aside.


How to make Instant Peda


1. Heat the kadhai with ½ cup of milk.

2. Add 1 tablespoon ghee and stir until ghee dissolves.

3. Now lower the flame and pour 1 cup of milk powder into it.

4. Immediately start mixing.

5. Stir and cook the mixture until thick.

6. Scrap the sides.

7. Switch off the flame when the milk powder mixture turns into a dough form.

8. Remove the mixture from the kadhai and let it cool down completely.

9. Further, add 4 teaspoons of powdered sugar and ¼ teaspoon of cardamom powder.

10. Mix everything very well.

11. Grease your palm with little ghee. Take a small portion from the peda mixture, roll it on your palm and gently press the peda.

Suggestion


1. You can also garnish the peda with almond or pistachio.

2. Don’t add sugar when the milk powder mixture is hot. It will make the mixture watery.

3. Place the peda in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to set.
