Sweet and wobbly mango halwa is made with mango, cornflour, sugar, and ghee. So basically, cornflour gives it a wobbly and soft texture while ghee makes this jelly or halwa firm.

Mango-based recipes are very much liked by children as well as adults. Also, jelly is an all-time favorite for kids. This mango jelly recipe or mango halwa recipe is a combination of jelly and mango burfi which makes it very unique and different.

Mango Halwa Recipe | Mango Jelly Recipe


Ingredients


2 medium-sized mangoes chopped

¼ cup cornflour

1 cup powdered sugar

½ teaspoon cardamom powder

2-3 drops yellow food color (optional)

5 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter)

1 cup water

Preparation


1. Take a container or tray and place butter paper in it. Or you can just grease the container with ghee.


How to make a Mango-Cornflour Mixture


1. Take 2 medium-sized chopped mangoes and add them to the blender jar.

2. Make a smooth mango puree. It will make approximately 1 cup mango puree.

3. In a heavy Kadai, take ¼ cup cornflour and 1 cup powdered sugar.

4. Further, add 1 cup of water and mix it very well to get lumps-free batter.

5. Now add mango pulp to it.

6. Continuously stir the mango pulp until it gets mixed with the sugar-cornflour mixture.

How to make Mango Halwa


1. Place this kadhai containing the mango-cornflour mixture on the stovetop and stir continuously on low to medium flame.

2. When the mixture starts to thicken, add 2 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter) in it and stir until the mango mixture absorbs ghee completely.

3. After 2-3 minutes, add 1 tablespoon ghee and stir continuously.

4. Further, again add 1 tablespoon ghee and mix it very well. We have to add ghee in batches to get the perfect texture.

5. After some time the mango mixture looks thick and glossy.

6. Now add the last 1 tablespoon ghee and stir.

7. Then add  ½ teaspoon cardamom powder and stir until everything is combined well.

8. Lastly, add 2-3 drops of yellow food color and mix. Adding food color is optional, you can skip it.

9. After 40 -45 minutes the mango halwa mixture looks glossy and thick.

10. Switch off the flame and immediately pour the mango halwa mixture into the container.

11. Spread evenly and keep aside for 1 hour.

12. After 1 hour, unmolds the jelly burfi and cut it into pieces. Also, you can put melon seeds on mango jelly.

13. Super soft and wobbly Mango Jelly / Mango Halwa is ready to serve.

Suggestion


1. Instead of food color, you can add a pinch of saffron to the jelly mixture.

2. You can also add chopped dry fruit to it.

3. Add more powdered sugar if mangoes are not sweet enough.
