Paneer Bhurji Recipe

Paneer Bhurji is an Indian scrambled cottage cheese recipe, which can be served with Aloo Puri, Amritsari Aloo KulchaRumali Roti, parathas, bread or with Garlic Naan. It can serve as breakfast with bread or can eat at lunch or dinner as a side dish.

This tasty and healthy homemade paneer bhurji recipe has a great protein content and is the best alternative for people who do not eat eggs or egg bhurji.

Here, I’m using Homemade Paneer to make this recipe more flavourful.

Ingredients


2 cup Paneer ( cottage cheese)

1 finely chopped medium-sized Onion,Tomato and Capsicum each

1 chopped green Chilli and Ginger Garlic paste each

½ teaspoon cumin seeds and coriander powder each

¼ teaspoon  Turmeric powder and Garam Masala each

¼ teaspoon Kasuri Methi (dried fenugreek leaves)  Optional

2 tablespoon Oil or butter

Salt to taste.

Preparation


1. Chopped onion, capsicum, tomato and green chilly very finely.

2. Crumbled the Paneer(Cottage cheese) with fingers.


How to Make Paneer Bhurji


1. Heat the pan with 2 tablespoons of oil or butter and add ½ teaspoon cumin seeds. Sauté till cumin seeds get crackled.

2. Add 1 medium-sized finely chopped onion and saute until onion gets soft and translucent.

3. Add finely chopped Green Chilli.

4. Then add 1 medium-sized finely chopped capsicum, saute capsicum on low flame and cover the pan until capsicum gets soften.

5. Now turn the flame on medium and add 1 medium-sized finely chopped tomato and 1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic paste. saute till ginger garlic raw aroma goes away and tomato gets soften.

6. After that add ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder, ¼ teaspoon garam masala powder, and  ½ teaspoon coriander powder and mix all the ingredients.

7. Add 2 cups crumbled Paneer and mix well. For making soft paneer bhurji don’t cook it too much, only saute for 2-3 minutes.

8. Lastly, add ¼ teaspoon crushed Kasuri Methi(crushed Kasuri methi in between your both palm). Add salt and mix well.

9. Now transfer Paneer Bhurji in a serving bowl or serving kadhai and garnish with onion and some green chili. Serve with roti or naan.

Note


1.  You can adjust the spicy flavor by adding more or less chili.

2. Scrambled the Paneer with using fingers, don’t use the mixer.

3. You can also use homemade Paneer in this paneer bhurji recipe to makes this dish more soft and tasty.
